When they finished, they noticed that there was no one in charge of carrying desires and thoughts from one place to another. Since they no longer had clay or corn to make another animal, they used a jade stone to carve an arrow.

When the arrow was ready, they blew on it and a smaller arrow flew out. It was no longer a simple object, now it had life, the gods had created the hummingbird. It was assigned to carry the thoughts and desires of men and women, using its feathers “KUUKUM” to fly deep into the Mayan jungle. The legend says that if you see a hummingbird it means someone sends you good wishes and love.
