The wisest Mayans say that the gods created all things on Earth, and in doing so they gave each animal, tree and stone a specific task. When they finished, they noticed that there was no one in charge of carrying desires and thoughts from one place to another. Since they no longer had clay or corn to make another animal, they used a jade stone to carve an arrow.
When the arrow was ready, they blew on it and a smaller arrow flew out. It was no longer a simple object, now it had life, the gods had created the hummingbird. It was assigned to carry the thoughts and desires of men and women, using its feathers “KUUKUM” to fly deep into the Mayan jungle. The legend says that if you see a hummingbird it means someone sends you good wishes and love.

I am a US based buyer who has been searching for the perfect vacation home. I came across quite a few agents on Instagram and some online review sites but quickly realized how hard it would be to find the perfect agent. After wasting weeks with agents who kept peddling and pushing the same developer condos over and over (clearly motivated by relationships rather than by fulfilling my search requirements), I dug deeper and found Playa Real Estate Group. I was able to hop on a call with Jason, explained what I was looking for and was paired up with Tracy.Tracy met my wife and I up the next day and took us to a mix of listings that let us know off the bat that she had our best interest at heart. As busy as she is, she was present, helpful, asked the right questions, and clearly cares to represent our interest. In a sales-y filled industry in a sales-y heavy town, she cut through the BS and condensed the heavy lingo into real terms that highlighted real pros and cons of each development and listing. She is not someone who will let you fall in love with something just to cash in a commission check if she senses somethings not checking out and that to me is an ultimate character skill Tracy possesses.Once we found the ideal home, she worked to help us investigate and research policies, tax implications, and even furniture stores. She was present during the pre-sale deposit transaction making sure everything was done to protect us. He picked us up from the resort, we were staying in the Riviera Maya, and introduced us to the beautiful Puerto Aventuras. We met Mike Burgoyne at this agency in October 2020 to initially get to know the Rivera Maya area. We had no intentions of finding “the perfect house” our first time out. We live in the U.S. and so prior to going to MX, we communicated with Mike via WhatsApp, email and then Zoom and expressed our desires in a MX home. Mike heard every request we made. After just two days with him in MX, Mike not only showed us multiple properties in various towns/cities and several different types of listings (condos, stand-alone homes, pre-construction, …) but he found The Perfect House for our family. Since then our communication with Mike has been spot-on. He is quick to reply, detail-oriented, the perfect professional, and very knowledgeable. Purchasing property in another country made us nervous, but Mike’s friendly demeanor and level of knowledge put us at ease. He is by far the best realtor we’ve ever worked with anywhere – including realtors we have experience with in the U.S. During our home search we came into contact with other realtors at their listings that knew Mike. Two years ago we reached out to Marisol of Playa Real Estate Group. Jason dropped everything to come to the property to assist us and escalate the concerns to ensure we were comfortable with the details. Very impressive service! Both Irene and Jason have worked extremely hard to ensure every detail was perfect! We can’t thank you enough!In the end we have purchased a beautiful condo that is being built just yards from the beach and a quick scoot to the golf course. A PERFECT spot! Marisol was a very good agent making the sale and keeping me up to date along the way. Jason, the owner was always in the loop and helping the entire way. He went above his requirement and helped overcome some unexpected expenses. Feeling secure while buying or selling in another country was the most difficult thing for me. I cannot rate Playa Real Estate Group and our Real Estate agent Matt highly enough.After deciding to put our house in Puerto Aventuras on the market we contacted a few agencies and their approach was lackluster to say the least.It was a totally different story when we contacted Playa Real Estate Group. My wife and I are considering buying a condo in Playa del Carmen. We flew there last week and met with Irene Soto. It was a delightful experience. After we had a short conversation to determine what we wanted, Irene took us to six special condos very close to the beach. She did this in just over two hours. Quite remarkable. She answered many of our questions and arranged to meet with a title lawyer to answer more questions. She is outgoing and obviously on good terms with owners and their representatives. It was a high point to our vacation.

We worked with Jason for years before finally taking the leap and buying in Playa. Every vacation for 3+ years we spent a day house hunting and Jason took us to as many properties as we wanted.
